Colin Ebsworth is a multi-talented entertainer, writer, and producer known for his stand-up comedy, performances, MC work, and writing. Starting comedy at 17 he made his television debut on the ABC in 2013 as a finalist in the Melbourne Comedy Festival's Raw Comedy Competition. Since then he's written and performed multiple new hours of stand-up cementing his reputation as one of the countries most prolific comedians (Nominated Best Local Comedy Perth Fringe 2013 & Outstanding Comedy Perth Fringe 2015) and has collaborated with some of the nations most exciting new talent.
In 2022 he premiered the autobiographical production "Me, My Cult and I" to critical acclaim. The show explored his parents matching in a mass wedding as part of the Unification Church a.k.a The Moonies along with his life in the cult and it's effect on his family. The limited season received extended runs and a nomination for the Critics Choice Award before returning by popular demand in 2023 and now touring nationally.
In 2019, Colin pursued a life long interest in late night talk show's by creating "Ebsworth Tonight". The show featured comedy, sketches, music, interviews, and more, all written, produced and hosted by Colin. After several productions the show has received millions of views across social media and featured established figures including Senators, Olympians, Musicians, and Radio & TV personalities.
Together with long time collaborator and mentor Ronan Freeburn (Rottofest, FreoRoyale) the duo spearheaded Western Australia's first-ever WA Comedy Week Festival with partners Channel 10, ABC Radio & the City of Perth. The festival showcased the incredible comedy talent Western Australia and it's contribution to the national and international comedy community. Working as Program Director, the pair delivered 25+ shows to thousands of ticketed attendees over 7 days of programming featuring established comedy names like Rove McManus (Rove Live), Peter Rowsthorn (Kath & Kim) and Janelle Koenig (Queen of WA Comedy).
As an MC and presenter, Colin has worked with numerous established media and business's. Recently he was brought in as the dedicated announcer for the Perth Heat's 2022-23 Australian Baseball League season with the team making the Championship round for the first time this decade. He has also been hired to present the business finance segment "Trading Up" in collaboration with Grafa Inc and 7 West Media featured on The West Australian and PerthNow.
